THMCEC club members on a bike run

Motorcycling since 1984

The Tweed Heads Motorcycle Enthusiasts Club (THMCEC) was founded in 1984, by Col Serone and Graham Young to foster motorcycle riding in the local community and to give back to the many volunteers who give up their time to help with local projects.

THMCEC is an organisation made up of Motorcycle Enthusiasts who range in age from early thirties to mid seventy’s and include both males and females. The Club is not bike-prejudiced and its members can appreciate motorcycles of all brands on all levels.

ABOUT

WHAT WE DO

Organised Bike Runs

The Club has monthly organised bike runs, that are mostly catered for. There are a few exceptions each year where lunch is held at the destination venue. The first bike run each year is in January to Cramms Farm and this event is fully catered.
Two overnight bike runs are organised each year. Over the years members have stayed in some great country hotels where the hospitality is second to none. Everyone looks forward to these bike runs as members know how enjoyable the weekend will be.

Every bike run includes an element of fundraising with most social venues that we stop at happy to donate a bottle for us to raffle in their hotel. This also benefits the locals who are invited to participate in the raffle.

Fundraising

Fundraising for charities is an important part of the Club’s activities. As the Club heads into its 40th year, it is encouraging to know that our fundraising efforts are still being put to good use in the community. The main recipient of funds raised by the Club in 2023 and a very worthy cause, is Kids In Need. The Club’s key fundraising events are the Annual Swap Meet and the Annual Poker Run.The Annual Swap Meet is held in June each year and coincides with the Cooly-Rocks-On festival in Coolangatta, so we usually have a good roll-up of shoppers and swappers.

Annual Poker Run

The Poker Run has a start and finish location with first and last cards selected at these points. There are 3 other stops including a catered lunch for the selection of your other cards. This year’s best hand was 3 Aces winning $300 for the lucky player, so it’s always worth playing.

Meat Tray Raffles

The Club also runs weekly Meat Tray raffles at the Chillingham store. This is a great location to get together socially with live music on Saturday afternoon. It is strongly recommended.
